Prime Minister Ilinga Ilunkamba attended the official ceremony on Saturday to hand over 300 buses to TRANSCO by the President of the Republic.
Prime Minister Ilunga Ilunkamba attended the official ceremony on Saturday 13 February 2021 to hand over 300 Volvo-branded buses to the transport company TRANSCO by the President of the Republic.
This is part of a total batch of 440 buses ordered by the Ilunkamba Government, which have been delivered in monthly installments of 110 buses since November 2020. The total number of buses for Transco is 670 buses.
Another 230 buses will be gradually delivered from April 2021. These Mercedes buses will be mounted in Kinshasa in a factory whose site has already been identified by the Ilunkamba government.
The installation of this assembly plant by The company Serve Air, which has been licensed to do so, will result in 500 direct jobs, and hundreds of indirect jobs. As a reminder, the contract had been concluded in 2019, and was awaiting the conclusion of the financial commitments
