Justice: 117 organizations call for general Numbi’s arrest.

More than 100 Congolese human rights organizations and citizens’ movements on Wednesday called for the immediate arrest of a general close to former President Joseph Kabila Kabange following new revelations about the assassination of a prominent activist, Floribert Chebeya Bahizire, in June 2010.
Two exiled police officers, Warrant Officer Hergil Ilunga wa Ilunga and Brigadier-Chief Alain Kayeye Longwa, who were assigned at the time to the Simba Battalion of the Congolese National Police (PNC), told Radio France Internationale (RFI) on Monday that they were involved in the murder of Mr. Chebeya, whose body was found on 2 June 2010 in his car on the outskirts of Kinshasa, and his driver on the outskirts of Kinshasa, and his driver. , Faithful Bazana Edadi.
The two police officers also accused General John Numbi Tambo Banza, a close associate of former President Kabila who was the PNC’s inspector general at the time, of being the main mastermind of the assassination.
